Treatment of Chronic B-type Viral Hepatitis with Hepaguard, Aqueous Extract of Phyllanthus Plant

Abstract

|
The oral administration of Hepaguard (aqueous extract of phyllanthus plant) with propel concentration can cure the woodchuck hepatitis and also proves to eliminate virus, HBV-pNq clinically from the serum of the patient with g type´ viral heaptitis by ~lOmg/k` body weight per day. The seven patients (23´0) among 30 chosen for the clincal test with the state of HBeAg(+) HBeAb(-) before Hepaguard administration were induced sero-com~ersion to the state of HBeAg(-) HBeAb(+). The serum transaminase activities stared to decrease in most patients 3 months after Hepaguard treatment. On the contrary, for the heald´7v carriers selected as controls, the level of HBV-DNA had not shown anv tluctuation through the experimental period. Hepaguard causes serious deformation of HBV particles at a concentration of 0.1 % in the saline under the electron microscope observation.
